New Moon's Website Updated!

August 19th, 2010
New Moon has signed-up to Twitter, you can follow us at, this gives us an out-of-game announcement channel that's a little easier for us to keep up-to-date than this page.

July 7th, 2005
There's a new voting page which lists several voting links for New Moon, as well as explaining a little of the rules and procedure. Vote for New Moon as often as is allowed!

March 21st, 2005
The cre-only pages are up! They're password protected, so you'll have to be a creator to log in.

Finally the wholist style matches the rest of the page. It only updates once per minute though, unlike the other one which was up-to-the-minute accurate. Looks nice though, doesn't it?

There is also a new link on the Mudmeet page.

New Moon's website, after lying dormant for several years, has a new webmaster: Mizerai. Feel free to tell him what you like, don't like, wish was included, find is wrong, etc.

New Moon's Hardware Upgraded!

New Moon runs on a dedicated PC (named Eclipse), based at Portland State University in the USA. For the technically minded and those interested in such things, our machine has the following specifications:

  • ECS K7S5a V3 motherboard for Socket A AMD
  • AMD Athlon 2100+ CPU
  • Micron DDR 266 memory, 512 MB
  • Maxtor 80 gig, 7200 RPM, 8 meg cache hard drive
  • D-link DFE-530+ 10/100 PCI netcard
  • FreeBSD operating system.
  • 100 Mbits Internet connection.
  • Apache web server.

Once again, many thanks to all the contributors!

We've prepared a small advert for the MUD. If you wish to help publicise New Moon and help us attract more players to enjoy the game, please download yourselves this copy of the advert and print it out. Post it to any bulletin or notice boards where you think it might be relevant. But please, ask permission first and don't go posting it up in places it wouldn't be wanted! We'll try to also make up some versions of this advert in a number of formats, such as Microsoft Word, Powerpoint etc, for ease of printing.

We're always looking for ways to publicize the game. So, if you maintain a Web page, whether its a MUD or role-play gaming-related page, or your own personal page perhaps, or anywhere indeed which might be appropriate, please give us a link! If you're a regular player on New Moon or if you're a provider of MUD-related or rpg-related information, we'd be glad to respond in kind with a link to you from these pages. If you're interested, get in touch with Mizerai for further details.

Problems logging in?

If you are experiencing difficulties entering a password on the Login screen, please try pressing CONTROL and J (CTRL-J) simultaneously after typing your password. For some reason this is required on a small minority of telnet clients.

Get In Touch With Us Here!

If you would like to get in touch with us, to ask a question, to pass comments and suggestions on the game or these Web pages or if you are experiencing any difficulties please feel free to do so here. SPECIAL NOTE: Should the MUD be unreachable for any reason, please do not use this form or the mail links below to ask why. If you are able to browse the New Moon Web site then it is probably that the game itself has crashed rather than the computer it runs on. There's no point in mailing Raindog about this as he won't know any more than you will. And it's best if you don't mail Bannor either because he'll almost certainly already have been informed about the problem by one of the game's Creators.
